Weekly Recap 1/9/11

One week of 2011 down!  By this time next week, I’ll be 30 years old.  Ack!  How did that happen???  LOL  I’m not really that stressed about it… age is just a number, right?

Anyway, I am making fantastic progress on my Reading Challenges already this year.  It’s easy now because everything I’ve read has fit into a category.  I’m sure this will slow down in the near future.

Books Read:

Magic Study (Study, Bk 2) by Maria V. Snyder – I still love this series.  I thought I might not like this one as much as I liked the first one because the setting has changed and there are loads of new characters, but it did not disappoint at all.  I love Yelena. (Fantasy)

Fire Study (Study, Bk 3) by Maria V. Snyder – The last book in the series – sadness!  To be honest, I didn’t like it as much as the rest of the series.  Yelena was frustrating at times.  Moon Man drove me nuts.  I missed beloved characters from the other books, like Ari and Janco, Valek, Irys, and Leif.  I did still think it was really interesting and I’m really glad I read the series! (Female Protagonist)

Shakespeare Bats Cleanup by Ron Koertge – This was fun.  I am a huge baseball fan and am so ready for baseball season to be back, so this was a great book for me.  I liked the poetry, especially when Kevin was kind of making fun of his own attempts at poetry. (Poetry)
