Waiting on Wednesday 11/4/09

Posted on 04 November 2009

Waiting on Wednesday was started by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Usually I try to make my WoW posts about a book that is coming out in the next month or so that I am interested in.  But yesterday Maggie Stiefvater posted the cover and a teaser for Linger, the sequel to Shiver, and I am so darn excited that I am breaking all my rules. :)  So… The book I am eagerly anticipating this week is Linger by Maggie Stiefvater.

lingerIsn’t it pretty?  I don’t have a description yet, but Maggie posted a couple paragraphs yesterday on her blog.  It’s spoilery if you haven’t read Shiver!

grace

This is the story of a boy who used to be a wolf and a girl who was becoming one.

Just a few months ago, it was Sam who was the mythical creature. His was the disease we couldn’t cure. His was the good-bye that meant the most. He had the body that was a mystery, too strange and wonderful and terrifying to comprehend.

But now it is spring. With the heat, the remaining wolves will soon be falling out of their wolf pelts and back into their human bodies. Sam stays Sam, and Cole stays Cole, and it’s only me who’s not firmly in my own skin.

I can’t wait!

eta: Der, I went to goodreads and there is a description of sorts there, so I guess I could share that.

Continues the story of the wolves of Mercy Falls. . .

It’s about after. What happens after you discover there are werewolves in the wood, after you’ve fallen in love for the first time, after you’ve lost what you think you can’t live without, after you’ve become someone you can’t live with.

Well, I own Shiver, but haven’t gotten a chance to read it just yet. I’ll definitely have to get to it. I did skip the synopsis, though…just in case there were spoilers. Great pick!
